Self-described as a “good Southern Baptist girl,” Shelby Knox decides to remain abstinent until marriage. When she learns that Lubbock has some of the highest teen pregnancy rates and sexually transmitted diseases in the state, and realizes that her state’s high schools only teach abstinence, she becomes an advocate for comprehensive sex education.
