No One Would Go

Kimse Gitmezdi
Director:
38',

Directed by Tuğba Baykal, No One Would Go is a powerful documentary that focuses on the psychological and psychiatric interventions imposed on LGBTQ+ individuals in Turkey under the name of “conversion therapy.” The documentary brings to light the deep trauma caused by these so-called treatment processes through the personal testimonies of those who experienced them. At the heart of the documentary is the story of Murat, who was sent to “converion therapy” for years by their family in an attempt to “fix” them. Murat’s experience, along with those of others, reveals the profound impact of social pressure, familial control, and belief systems on individual lives.
