In response to the rise of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the Southern United States following the 2016 election, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir embark on a musical tour to spread a message of love and acceptance. Traveling through Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and the Carolinas, the journey becomes not only a confrontation with social prejudice but also a personal reckoning for the choir members themselves. Gay Chorus Deep South highlights the unifying power of music and emphasizes our shared humanity beyond faith, identity, and political division.
