This Clarification Text on the Processing of Personal Data has been prepared by Queer Documentaries (“QDocs”) to inform you about the purpose and scope of processing your personal data and your rights in this regard.
Data Controller:
Pursuant to Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), your personal data is processed by Queer Documentaries (contact address: info@queerdocumentaries.org) as the data controller within the scope described below.
For which purposes your personal data will be processed:
Your personal data (information such as name, date of birth, e-mail, profession/field information) that you submit through the https://queerdocumentaries.org website will be processed in a limited manner in order to carry out the archive, announcement, event and communication activities carried out by Queer Documentaries; to carry out information, content sharing, collective participation and interaction processes and to fulfill the relevant legal obligations.
Methods of Collecting Your Personal Data and Legal Reasons:
Your personal data are processed by automatic means in electronic environment based on the legal reason “data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject” specified in Article 5 of the KVKK.
To whom and for what purposes your personal data may be transferred:
Your personal data is not shared with third parties within the country, except for the relevant public institutions or legally authorized persons/institutions, provided that it is limited to the purposes stated above.
However, due to the fact that the servers of the web infrastructure, e-mail service providers, social media and video sharing platforms we use are located abroad, your personal data may be transferred abroad within the framework of this Clarification Text and only for the purpose of carrying out QDocs’ digital archive and communication activities and ensuring storage and archiving processes.
Your Rights as a Personal Data Owner under the LPPD:
Pursuant to Article 11 of the LPPD, you have the following rights as a personal data owner:
Learn whether your personal data is being processed,
Request information if processed,
Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used for its intended purpose,
To know the third parties to whom the data is transferred domestically or abroad,
Request correction of incomplete or incorrectly processed data,
To request the deletion or destruction of data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in the KVKK,
Request notification to third parties to whom these transactions are transferred,
To object to the occurrence of a result to the detriment of the person by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,
In case of damage due to unlawful processing of personal data, to demand compensation for the damage.
