Boy I Am follows the transition journeys of three young FTM (female-to-male) individuals—Nicco, Norie, and Keegan—from New York City. The film deeply explores their experiences, shedding light on the struggles trans men face regarding gender identity, their search for self, and confronting societal acceptance. It also addresses the existing barriers within the lesbian community regarding trans issues and aims to initiate a dialogue to overcome these obstacles. Boy I Am provides an important perspective on understanding gender transition as a personal journey while also examining the challenges trans men face within larger societal structures.
