Burcu’s Angels

Burcu's Angels
20',

Directed by Özgün Gündüz, Burcu’s Angels tells the story of a vintage boutique (called Burcu’s Angels) in Vancouver, Canada, that has served as a refuge for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for over 30 years. The film follows Burcu, the store’s founder and a longtime member of the queer community, as she prepares to say goodbye to the boutique’s final location, capturing the emotional journey and the deep significance the space holds for the community. Through archival footage and the sounds of Turkish music, the documentary highlights the importance of a place that offers not only clothing but also a sense of belonging. The film quietly celebrates resilience, memory, and the idea of chosen family.
