Gullüm centers on “Dudakların Cengi,” a stage at the heart of Istanbul’s queer nightlife, and follows the journey of young drag performer Florence K. Delight within this vibrant scene. Through archival footage from the pre-pandemic period, the film reveals that this queer-friendly performance venue is not only a space for entertainment but also a platform for solidarity and self-expression. This short documentary intimately portrays the struggles behind the glittering identities under the stage lights, as well as their defiance against societal norms.
