“Of Love & Law” follows the lives and professional struggles of Fumi and Kazu, an openly gay couple living in Osaka who have been together for 15 years. In Japan, where same-sex marriage is not legally recognized and social stigma is widespread, Fumi and Kazu run the first law firm established by an openly gay couple. Their clients include marginalized members of society such as the artist Rokudenashiko, who faces discrimination due to her gender identity, a teacher who lost her job for refusing to stand during the national anthem, and individuals without official registration.
