In a town in southeastern Poland that has declared itself an “LGBT-free zone,” 20-year-old Dawid faces constant threats and exclusion in the very city he loves and calls home. Queer in the Zone sheds light on the systemic discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in Poland through Dawid’s personal story. While capturing his lived experiences, the documentary also offers a deeper examination of the impact of Poland’s anti-LGBTQ+ policies on individuals and highlights the resilience and courage of those who continue to live openly despite hostility.
