Queer053 tells the story of a queer culture festival held over the course of a decade in Daegu, one of South Korea’s more conservative cities. As the country’s second-largest LGBTQ+ event after the Seoul’s cultural queer festival, it has hosted significant human rights activities in the region despite lacking support from local authorities and facing interference from hostile groups.
