The Stroll

The Stroll
87',

The Stroll tells the true stories of Black and Latin transgender women sex workers who survived in New York City’s Meatpacking District during the 1990s and 2000s. The film highlights their struggles with police violence, homelessness, and discrimination, while also celebrating their resilience, solidarity, and chosen families. Co-director Kristen Lovell, who once worked on “The Stroll” herself, shares her personal experiences and reconnects with fellow trans women from that time. Through archival footage and intimate testimonies, the documentary offers a powerful reflection on trans history and community survival.
