The Night Flowers

The Night Flowers
85',

The Night Flowers is a powerful documentary that focuses on the experiences of young queer individuals living in rural Mexico. The film portrays the lives of a group of youth who, despite facing discrimination due to their LGBTQ+ identities, continue to resist and persevere. The documentary is centered around the region’s first LGBTQ+ memorial march, held in response to the brutal murder of a trans woman in 2019. This march serves not only as a protest, but also as a ritual of remembrance, mourning, and solidarity. Throughout the film, queer youth share their dreams, fears, and personal experiences of violence with honesty and vulnerability.
